Relax, Rejuvenate & Revitalise, The 'Human Body' is the best work of art .......
What is Reflexology
Reflexology dates back to Ancient Egypt, India and China, this therapy was not introduced to the West until Dr William Fitzgerald developed 'Zone therapy'. He believed that reflex areas on the feet and hands were linked to other areas and organs of the body within the same zone. In the 1930's, Eunice Ingham further developed this zone theory into what is known as reflexology. Her opinion was, that congestion or tension in any part of the foot is a mirror image of the corresponding part of the body. Eunice Ingham died in 1974 at the age of 85 still thoroughly convinced that Reflexology could aid in easing the suffering of mankind and research proves today that thousands of people have had great results from a Reflexology treatments.
Reflexology is recommended by Reflexologists as a 'Complimentary Therapy ' and does NOT replace Medical Treatment
Reflexology treatments open the subtle electrical channels that become blocked due to emotional & physical imbalances, creating a physiological change in the body
How Does Reflexology Work
Reflex points on the Feet, Hands Face, Spine and Ears, connect to organs, glands and all parts of the body, by using pressure points and manipulation of those reflex points the associated glands, organs and systems are stimulated.
These cells receive more blood supply, more oxygen and the lymphatic system assists the immune system by removing toxins and cellular waste. Reflexology has been shown to release endorphins - the 'feel good' hormones.
Most people hold stress somewhere in their body, one of my goals as a reflexologist is to relieve stress and tension that may interfere with circulation and the natural flow of the body's energy. Reflexology treatments open the subtle electrical channels that become blocked due to emotional and physical imbalances, creating a physiological change in the body.
Medical science now recognises that stress is a leading factor in many diseases and that stress contributes to,and aggravate's many existing conditions - to mention a few are Irritable bowel (IBS), stomach problems, indigestion, acid reflux, headaches, migraines, back pain, fatigue, arthritis, insomnia and many others. Research has also shown that deep relaxation contributes to a stronger immune system and a sense of well being for the body to work at its optimum level. Reflexology and many holistic therapies are powerful ways to manage stress, achieve deep relaxation, balance the body systems, maintain a healthy lifestyle and prevent illness.
The systematic application of pressure to the reflexology points stimulates the body's ability to rejuvenate and heal itself
